I am Kimberly L. Tripp, and I’m Kandio’s go-to gal on performance tuning for Microsoft SQL Server.

After working at Microsoft University and the SQL Server development team at Microsoft, I left to build my consulting and training team at SQLskills. I focus on all things related to architecture, especially partitioning for large data sets, indexing, statistics, and plan caching. Through our in-person courses, conferences, and online at Pluralsight, I am sharing my passion for tuning to a new generation of data specialists.

Through my 25+ years of experience, your business can leverage my extensive knowledge and find your next SQL Server expert through Kandio’s.

Mi experiencia

I’ve been on the tech scene since 1988 when I was a WordPerfect and LAN instructor at our University’s computer center. After working in marketing at IBM, I created an advertisement that went nation-wide and had to be customized; I created a database to track the orders/customizations and I fell in love – with databases, design, and performance. In 1995, I felt constrained at Microsoft (‘92-95) as I was just “in my office” writing technical documentation and I started SQLskills. I was Microsoft Certified Professional number 128 and I became a Microsoft Certified Trainer – Instructor at Microsoft University. Years later, I helped design and write the Microsoft Certified Master Program for SQL Server and was an instructor for a portion of the Sharepoint MCM program. However, my preference is always for walking through the many choices on which optimal design depends and I consider performance tuning to be my area of specialty with SQL Server. I’ve been writing articles, presenting at conferences and our in-person/online Immersion Events, as well as online on Pluralsight to those interested in the internals and intricacies of SQL Server.
